The reason structural tension - with an end result goal, current reality, and action steps - works better than manipulation 202111051850 is that there’s a hierarchy of choices.
The primary choice is the result you want to create. Current reality is where you are now in the creative process to produce the result. In between lies all of your secondary choices: actions to get you from A to B. You may not like all of the actions require to produce the result, but in this structure, the actions are a choice.
If an action isn’t necessary to produce the end result then there’s no need to take it anyway. If an action is necessary to produce the end result, but you don’t want to do it, you don’t have to. You have a choice: (1) take the action and get the result, or (2) don’t take the action and don’t get the result.
In this strucutre, motivation comes naturally from your desire to produce the end result. The structural tension moves you forward as long as you stay focussed on the result and maintain an acurrate vision of current reality.
