Title - Turn frustration into fascination Tags - influentialwritingfascination

Jim Rohn said, “learn how to turn frustration into fascination.” This illustrates that you can influence people by presenting your character as someone who has the “secrets” to better manage the same frustrations they have. By doing so, they’ll start to ask, “how does he do that?” and “how can I do that just like he does?”

Dan Kennedy does this well. He says that there are two things people are most fascinated with: (1) how he gets by without a mobile phone and other technology, and (2) how he gets so much done, especially with minimal staff.

It’s my observation that people are also fascinated with how Dan does business on his own terms and still makes a butt-load of customers. In other words, they are fascinated by his autonomy.

This is definitely deliberate, and in the context of turning frustrations into fascinations, it suggests that Dan’s audience are frustrated by being pestered on the phone, interruptions from staff, mountains of email, always chasing their tail. Dan - or, at least, the character Dan portrays - has found a way to overcome all of these frustrations, which makes him fascinating.
