Yesterday, I experienced Epic as nurses and doctors do. In today’s training, I switched into analyst mode.
It revealed how much happens beneath the surface. It’s incredibly complex. Which makes sense, because healthcare is too. But if it’s complex for clinicians to use, it’s bad for them, and bad for patients.
So I realised that it’s my responsibility to:
- absorb the complexity and understand the system deeply,
so that I can,
- build workflows that make it easy for clinicians to focus on patient care
