Title - Definition of Operations Management Tags - healthcare operationalmanagement processes systems

From Health Care Operations Management (HCOM) course.

Definition of Operations Management:

‘The knowledge and skills to design, operate and improve processes that deliver products in the form of goods and services.’

This seems like a wishy washy definition.

Isn’t operations management about delivery rather than the knowledge and skills that enable someone to deliver something?

What about, ‘the design, operation, and improvement of processes…’

I’m also not sure about ’… that deliver products in the form of goods and services.’

What if it were… ‘that deliver results in the form of products and services’?

Here’s my current definition of operations management:

‘The design, operation, and improvement of processes that deliver results in the form of products and services.’

I’m curious to know how operational manager’s would define it.
