Phil Jackson, legendary Chicago Bulls coach, said that his mentor Tex Winter used to repeat: “You’re only a success for the moment that you complete a successful act”.
This caught my attention because it demonstrates that success comes moment-to-moment. If you achieve something, then dwell on it and don’t keep practicing, there won’t be many more successes. Equally, even if you’ve yet achieved the success you seek, the quote illustrates the value of daily and momemt-by-moment action. If you’re successful in the small acts today, and tomorrow, and the day after - it all adds up to much more.
