Title - It’s ok to be indecisive when writing Tags - writing bookwriting quote

“If you hesitate, it may be that your knowledge is broad and you have grasped numerous possibilities.”

Ayn Rand wrote this is the context of writing a book.

She said that if a child wrote a story they would most likely do so inspirationally and produce a good book (relative to their development) and would not hestiate because they wouldn’t be aware that there were questions over which to hesitate.

On the other hand, if you hesitate or if you are indecisive about what to include in a book - for example - then it can just be because you have a broad base of knowledge and your mind grasps that there are many possibilities to choose from.

This is a good thing!

It means you have lots of options and a good knowledge base to select from.

It is also true that creating and writing are only pleasurable BECAUSE you have to gather knowledge and make these decisions.
