Components of a management system:

  1. Approach your management of people as a marketing tool because when you do it well they’ll be motivated to provide an amazing service

  2. Help employees understand the meaning of the work they’re doing, which makes them more likely to want to help the business reach its goals.

  3. Test employees against the standards you set for each position. E.g. if you set a standard of creativity for a role, clearly define what creativity looks like. If the role is a baker, you might tell them you expect no two weeks’ cake schedules to be the same. This will push the baker to reach their potential.
