Title - It’s snowing! Tags - sapstory
We’ve been staying with Cal’s nan in the West Midlands for the last few ways.
And to our surprise and delight, it’s been snowing!
As you know, snow is a rarety in the South West, so it’s the first time Mabel has seen the white stuff, and one of a handful I’ve times I have, despite being 31.
Anyway, on Sunday, we went to visit Cal’s aunty, uncle and two cousin’s at their home, near Stafford. And after lunch, we went for a nice long walk in the snow. Mabel has been unwell, which has kept her up at night, so I was hoping she’d have a nice long sleep in the pram. But I guess she was just as excited as I was to see snowmen because she didn’t stop crying until I took her out of the pram to walk get welly-deep in snow!
There’s nothing like snow to get you into the Christmas spirit, is there?
Ok, I think I’ve teased you enough for one day…
If it makes you feel any better, I was developing some festive cheer before we saw a spot of snow. That’s because, on the journey up, a lady called into the radio we were listening to, and shared her Christmas tradition.
Every year, she buys a new bauble for her baby son. When they’re 18 and leaving home, she plans to give him all 18 baubles for his own Christmas tree.
What a lovely idea!
In fact, it’s such a nice tradition that I’m going to steal it for myself. Mabel got her own bauble for her first Christmas last year. Now, I’m going to buy a new one for her every year :-)
This also made me think about how my colleague Emma - who scanned at Sneak-A-Peek for a while after I gave birth to Mabel - had encouraged me to provide baubles with scans last Christmas.
No idea why I didn’t explore the idea last Christmas, but when I heard the lady on the radio, I thought about how nice it would be to begin the tradition for your baby’s true first Christmas - when they’re in your belly!
It’s obviously too late for me to do that for Mabel, but it’s not too late for you. I’ve done some research and found some nice baubles to which you can add two scan pictures to the bauble; one on each side.
To be honest I was worried that I they pictures wouldn’t fit very well, or the baubles would be a bit naff, but after some perseverance, I’m pleasantly suprised by the result.
How can you get a bauble?
You get two of them with every Christmas scan - early pregnancy, gender or 4d - each with two pictures of your baby inside.
If you want to see what they look like - with a view to booking a Christmas scan package - please join the waiting list.
Remember: you must be on the waiting list to be notified. This is so you’re not bothered with the announcements if not interested in scans.
I’ll announce the packages in the coming days, at which point I’ll stop emailing you, unless you’re on the waiting list.
With festive cheer,
