Before we had Mabel, my husband and I took some time off work to visit South-East Asia.

In the space of 4 weeks, got caught up in a political assassination, tried to fit in on a drug- and gun-filled Phillipino Island, and met Bou Meng - 1 of 7 adult survivors of the S-21 Tuol Sleng camp where 20,000 Cambodians were tortured and executed by the Khmer Rouge.

On the other hand, our time in Vietnam was unforgettable for all the right reasons. Everything was much cheaper in Vietnam than England, so we treated ourselves to a cruise around UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Ha long Bay.

To our suprise, it wasn’t the luxury rooms, stunning scenery, or magical stop-off’s that made the trip… it was the food.

Every breakfast, lunch and evening meal was a whopping 9 courses. Yes, 9 courses! I’m not exaggerating. Not only that, every single dish was delicious, and the service was exceptional.

Every time we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter seemed genuinely happy to see us, had a huge smile on their face, and greeted us by our first names.

They offered a choice of table, helped with our seats, gave us a warm towel, explained the menu, and immediately took our drinks orders.

Phenomenal.

We may never experience that level of service again. In most places, a trip like this would cost more than our mortgage. But it was worth the price 10 times over. If I was given the chance to do it all again for £2000, £5000 or even £10,000 - and I could afford it - I’d say yes in a heartbeat.

THAT is the kind of service - and the kind of value - I try to make sure you get from a scan at Sneak-A-Peek Ultrasound [LINK].
