What can I do to avoid a transvaginal (internal) scan?

After 9 weeks, it’s much less likely you’ll need an internal scan. And regardless of how far along you are, keeping a full bladder increases the chance that an abdominal scan will be sufficient. In any case, even if it would help to see your baby more clearly, you are under no obligation to have an internal scan. It’s totally up to you. I’ll just give you the information you need to make an informed decision and let you decide what to do next. Before then, if you’re not sure if and when to have a scan, feel free to get in touch and I can help you explore the possibilities. You can either complete an enquiry form or request an appointment for an early pregnancy scan.
