What does a transvaginal (internal) scan involve?
It involves a small probe being introduced into the entrance of the vagina. It’s generally not as uncomfortable as a smear test as it doesn’t involve a speculum, and there’s no risk to your pregnancy. We use jelly to make it more comfortable, cover you with a large towel to keep you decent, and lock the door to avoid unwanted visitors!
