Title - Monologue to sell 4d scans Tags - sapstory 4dscan
4d scans weirded me out a little.
I was 20-weeks pregnant with my first baby.
One day, a friend from my antenatal class shared her 4d pictures on Instagram.
After scrolling through them, I turned to my husband Josh and said -
“It looks like a lasagne!”
He laughed.
I just couldn’t see the appeal.
Then, one day, another Facebook friend shared a side-by-side picture. It was a 4d scan next to a picture of her newborn baby.
Remarkable!
The features were strikingly similar and the scan picture looked so life-like.
“Was I wrong about 4d scans after all?” I wondered.
Anyway, I pushed the thought to the back of my mind.
But over the next couple of weeks, the picture kept flashing up in my head.
“Will I regret it if I don’t give it a try?”
So I went home, showed Josh the side-by-side pictures, and we discussed the possibility of a 4d scan.
“I don’t know. What do you think?” I asked.
“Oh, I don’t mind - it’s totally up to you,” Josh replied.
“I’m tempted,” I said, followed by a long pause.
Then Josh looked at me and said, “Yeah, I’m really intrigued, let’s do it!”
So we did, and…
WOW!
It was amazing to see her beautiful little features and the clarity was astonishing.
But do you know what?
The thing that really made the experience, which I wasn’t expecting at all, was the well-being part of the scan.
We hadn’t seen our daughter for a while, so it was reassuring to know that she seemed to be happy, healthy and growing.
And as well as seeing her facial features in 4d, Maria also showed us her arms, legs and body in 2d.
It was like we were meeting our baby properly for the first time. We both felt so much closer to her after the scan and simply couldn’t wait to meet her in real life.
We will definitely be back to see Maria if we are fortunate enough to have future pregnancies!
