Title - How to write a monologue Tags - monologue structure writing
The form of a monologue is when the character begins in one place and ends in the opposite place.
This works because there’s tension between A and B, with A being the starting point and B being the finish point.
Here’s how to structure and write a monologue:
-
Define the A
-
Define the B
-
Create a character
-
Create a situation the character is in, a decision he/she needs to make, or an event that has happened to him/her. The point of view can be past or present tense.
-
Put down the first and last plot points (A and B)
-
Put down 3 other points but don’t define them yet
-
Define the 4th plot point
-
Define the 2nd plot point
-
Define the middle plot point
-
Write the monologue quickly
