- We have meals, ingredients, recipe
- Once a week, online food shop, delivery or collection
- Without a meal plan, we’re all over the place
- Expensive: more takeaways, more waste, more expensive
- Unhealthy: more takeaways/fast food, less healthy
- Routine: eat at different times, weight gain, other health problems
- Energy: have to think about what to cook every time, stressful, energy wasted
- Time: more trips to supermarket/shop, more time deciding what to buy
- Self-image: you know negative outcomes, do it anyway, beats up self-image
- NO CONTROL
- Introduce system
- Same meals every week
- Faster to cook
- Less time to organise meals
- Less time shopping
- Eat at same time every day
- Waste less food
- Spend less money
- Feel in control
- Healthier
- Fall out of system, problems return
- System evolving over time
- We weren’t a fan of two meals
- We kept them in the system, but weren’t motivated to cook them, so reverted to old habits of buying a takeaway instead
- Returned to system by replacing meals
- This applies to business systems
