Title - Keeping/losing possession in football = retaining/losing a customer Tags - callumstory
Once upon a time, there was…
- A football tournament called Euro 2020
Every day …
- I watched a game or two in the evening
One day …
- I noticed that Italy were excellent at keeping possession
Because of that …
- It made me think how all the top teams, like Man City, Pep’s Barcelona, Liverpool, Spain - are all excellent at retaining possession
Because of that …
- I realised that, when you have the ball, it requires much less energy, you have much bigger opportunity to score, your opponent tires physically and mentally
Because of that …
- I gave some thought to how this applies to business
Until finally …
- I made the breakthrough discovery that giving away possession is the same as losing a customer and keeping possession is equal to retaining a customer
- As in football, getting a new customer (chasing the ball) vs retaining an existing customer (keeping possession) requires much more resource
Ever since then …
- I’ve had a much deeper appreciation for the value of retaining customers vs letting them stop transacting (and not trying to reactivate them)
Purposes
- to t/g the value of retaining patients/customers/clients
