There are internal and external point of sale promotions.
External POS promotions involve displays outside of the place where sales are made, e.g. retail stores with banners saying things like “SALE” or “2 for 1” which grab your attention as you walk or drive past.
Internal POS promotions involve displays inside the place of business, e.g. retailers are renowned for using displays or signs at or around the checkout counter and ends of aisles.
