Getting started is the key to daily goal achievement because once you get started and absorb yourself in that world, your automatic mechanism will take over and you’ll probably keep going without any thought or will power. And before you know it, you’ll have surpassed what you might have set as a big goal. For example, once you open the cover of a book, it’s almost impossible to stop. Your automatic mechanism takes over and, out of habit, you want to read. So if your goal is to read, but you’re experiencing resistance to reading for, say, 30 minutes - it’s much better to set a goal like “open the cover of xyz book”.
