- My dad was born & raised on large potato farm; in family for generations
- Occassionally went to school, mainly worked on farm with dad, brother, uncles
- Married my mum; moved to Netherdowns - family-owned sheep farm
Every day …
- Mum was a dental nurse and enjoyed it so carried on working
- Expected to balance “farmer’s wife”/housewife role simultaneously
One day …
- They had ME!
Because of that …
- Mum went on maternity leave
- Decided not to return to work
- Dedicated her life to family
Because of that …
- Had two more children; stayed in mother and housewife role
- Me and becky flew the nest
- Steven stayed home to work on farm
Because of that …
- Went back to work as dental nurse
Until finally…
- Mum stopped working again
- Had grandchildren
Ever since then …
