The Japanese send teams of negotiators to celebrate the successes of American corporations. The company president and chairman will bring in all their engineering people and lay out all their new technologies to show off to the Japanese. Many of the American believe it’s not a negotiation; it’s just a visit from a friendly country. The Japanese know better. They have a great advantage because some of the American’s have no idea they’re in a negotiation. They drop their guard. They want to be liked. They’re emotional. So, the Japanese have a great opportunity to do critical research for their negotiations.
